Rev. Wayne Robertson - Lead Pastor
Pastor Wayne is a Canadian by birth, but claims no specific town as home, having grown up in a military home. He graduated from High School in southern Nova Scotia, then headed to Bethany Bible College in Sussex, New Brunswick. It was during his first year at the college, he knew God’s call on his life was for full time ministry.
After graduating in 1981, he married Brenda a month later and they began their pastoral ministry at Central Wesleyan on the beautiful island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick. Pastor Wayne and Brenda enjoyed sixteen years of ministry there, the addition of their two daughters, and many great blessings from the Lord.
Pastor Wayne has served as the Lead Pastor of Houlton Wesleyan since 1997. Over the 19+ years together we have been blessed to see consistent growth, outreach to our community, several called to ministry and missions, and a church of compassion and love.
We believe these are great days to serve together in the local church. With unprecedented opportunities, a heart for the people, and anticipating the best is yet to come, we step into each day to serve our God and bring Him praise.
Rev. Matt Blackford - Assistant pastor
Matt joined the staff of Houlton in November of 2015. It is his passion to help students become more connected with God and to show them how they can develop a strong relationship with him.
Pastor Matt is a 2010 graduate of Kirkwood Community College with a PC Tech degree and 2014 graduate of Kingswood University with a BA in Ministry and a minor in Church Planting. Prior to serving at Houlton, Matt has served as a Resident Pastor at church in Saint John, New Brunswick and was on staff working for an inner-city homeless ministry also in Saint John called Outflow Ministry.
He is happily married to his beautiful wife Ashley. They are both happy to call Houlton their home with their crazy dog Lucy and cat Thatcher. Pastor Matt’s favorite Bible Passage comes from Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Dianne Suitter - Office Manager
Dianne joined the staff in 1995. She has a listening ear, compassionate heart, and commitment to her work that is highly valued. Dianne does an outstanding job keeping things going, answering questions, putting up with the craziness of three pastors, and doing whatever needs to be done that day!
